What we handle
- The public URL of a Google review.
- Your business name and practice address.
- The email address you used to sign up.
- Optional notes you write about the case.
- Payment data, handled by Stripe.
That is the complete list of what touches our systems.
What we do NOT handle
RevGon does not store the body text of any Google review. Our submission form is built to ask for the URL only. We follow the URL when we file the policy report with Google, but we do not copy the review's content into our database. If a Google review happens to contain Protected Health Information (a patient name, a treatment description, a diagnosis), that text is not saved by us at any point.
We also do not collect:
- Patient names, demographics, or contact information.
- Medical records, treatment notes, or appointment data.
- Insurance or billing information for patients.
- Anything from your practice management system.
Why this matters for dentists
Dental practices are HIPAA covered entities. When you hire a vendor that touches Protected Health Information, that vendor becomes a HIPAA business associate and you need a Business Associate Agreement. We designed RevGon so this question never comes up: the data we handle is not PHI, so a BAA is not required.

Our HIPAA status
RevGon is not a HIPAA covered entity. RevGon is not a HIPAA business associate of any dental practice that uses our service, because the data we handle does not include Protected Health Information as defined by 45 CFR 160.103.
The service is, by design, outside the scope of HIPAA.
If you accidentally send us PHI
The optional notes field on our submission form is a free-text field. We ask that you not paste patient names, diagnoses, or other identifying medical details. If you do so by accident, email us and we will purge the affected record. We will confirm the purge in writing.
